From a home test in Cagliari to the start of ChargeNChill

Every company starts quietly. Ours began at home in Cagliari, on the day our first power bank rental machine arrived. Before it went anywhere public, we wanted to live with it for a while — testing the rental flow, the return process, the payment, the small details that decide whether something feels effortless or frustrating.

It was not just a machine in a hallway. It was the first step toward something larger: making phone charging easier, faster, and more accessible in everyday life.

The problem we're solving

Smartphones now sit at the centre of almost everything we do — navigation, payments, communication, travel, work. The hardware gets faster every year, but batteries have not kept pace with how heavily we rely on them.

A low battery isn't just inconvenient. Outside the house, it interrupts the things people actually came out to do:

  • Maps and navigation
  • Payments and banking
  • Social and messaging
  • Travel and bookings
  • Food delivery and daily tasks
  • Work and remote collaboration

What ChargeNChill is

ChargeNChill is a portable power bank rental network. People take a charger from one of our stations, use it on the move, and return it to the same station — or to any other ChargeNChill station in the network.

Three steps, no friction:

  • Rent a power bank from any ChargeNChill station
  • Charge your phone while you go about your day
  • Return it to any station, anywhere in the network

The result is charging that fits the way people already move through a city.

Why Cagliari

Cagliari is our starting point for a reason. The city is dense and walkable, built around places where people stop, meet, eat, study, and work — cafés, restaurants, beaches, universities, event venues, a busy historic centre. It is the kind of environment where access to charging quietly matters.

People here are always in motion. In those moments, a power bank is less a convenience than something genuinely useful.

Where we're going

We are starting small on purpose. Over the next year, the plan is to grow beyond Cagliari and bring ChargeNChill to more cities across Italy — wherever charging needs to be simple and within reach.

The places we want to be:

  • Cafés and restaurants
  • Beaches and tourist areas
  • Shopping centres
  • Stations and transport hubs
  • Universities and schools
  • Events and nightlife venues
  • Public spaces and city centres

More than a power bank

ChargeNChill isn't really about renting a power bank. It is about removing a small but persistent piece of friction from the day. A charged phone means people stay in maps, in messages, in payments, in photographs — without the low-grade anxiety of a draining battery.

For businesses, a station is something genuinely useful for customers — a small upgrade to the experience of being in a café, a bar, a restaurant, or any public-facing venue.

That first machine on a table at home mattered because every detail mattered: the hardware, the rental flow, the payment, the return. Testing it ourselves was how we made sure none of those felt like an afterthought.

That is where ChargeNChill began. The work is now underway.

Every startup begins with one idea, one test, and one first step.
